Miss Dotty Palmer & Mr. Richard Wiederstein
Miss Dotty Duncan Palmer and Mr. Richard Aaron Wiederstein were united in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Kent R. Hance Chapel on the beautiful campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Fr. Francis Onyekozuru officiated the double ring ceremony. Scriptures were read by Rachel Hooper and Rick Wiederstein.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center with entertainment provided by West Texas DJ. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cagle Steaks & BBQ.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Felix Palmer of Nassau Bay, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Palmer of Irving, Texas; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bancroft Prentice of Houma, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adam Wiederstein of Midland, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen H. Wiederstein of Hitchcock, Oklahoma; and of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.A (Jack) Schwartz of Okeene, Oklahoma.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white couture silk taffeta A-line ball gown with a semi-sweetheart bodice scattered with baby pearls, crystals, and sequins. Her veil was finger-tip length with scattered crystal edging on a free form headpiece comprised of seed pearls and silver Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of pink hydrangea, light pink roses, crème roses, pink sweet pea, pink bouvardia, stephanotis and dusty miller contrasted against variegated pittosporum.
Serving as her Matron of Honor was her sister, Rachel Palmer Hooper of Houston, Texas. Alex Wiederstein of Midland, Texas, the brother of the groom, served as Best Man.
In 2004, the bride received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas Tech University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She is currently employed by the Ector County Independent School District as an English Teacher at Odessa High School.
The groom graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006. He holds a degree in communications and is a manager at Enterprise Truck Rental.
Following a honeymoon in Ruidoso, New Mexico, the couple will reside in Midland, Texas.
